COMO NASCEU O
FORMATO KEY.

2003
2013

Keynote 1.0 shipped in January 2003 as Apple’s presentation software — built originally for Steve Jobs’ own keynote speeches. Jobs had ordered a replacement for PowerPoint because the tool he used onstage was not good enough for his own productions; Apple’s internal team built Keynote around cinematic transitions, typographic polish, and the kind of animations movie studios use. The format was so visibly nicer than PowerPoint that Apple released it to the public within a year.

The .key file went through the same 2013 iWork rewrite as Pages and Numbers — old .key files were bundles (folders disguised as files); modern .key files are ZIP archives containing IWA (iWork Archive) Protocol-Buffers blobs. Keynote-for-iCloud runs entirely in JavaScript. Presenters serious about visual polish (TED speakers, investor pitches, Apple WWDC itself) still write in Keynote and export PDF or DOCX for audiences on other platforms.

CURIOSIDADES E
FATOS INTERESSANTES.

01

Keynote was created at Steve Jobs' direct request in 2003 — he wanted a better tool for his own keynote speeches.

02

Apple WWDC keynote slides are Keynote files — the company literally uses its own software onstage.

03

A modern .key file is a ZIP archive of IWA (iWork Archive) Protocol Buffers — opaque outside Apple apps.

04

Keynote supports "Magic Move" transitions — objects smoothly animate between slides, a signature Apple effect.

05

Keynote is free and preinstalled on every Mac, iPad, and iPhone since ~2014.

VANTAGENS E

Perguntas frequentes sobre KEY

Perguntas frequentes

KEY (Apple Keynote) is a presentation formato used to store slide decks: text, images, charts, speaker notes, transitions, e embedded media across a sequence of slides. It sits no presentations family e is tied para um specific presentation aplicativo's arquivo structure e feature set.

PowerPoint, Google Slides, LibreOffice Impress, e Apple Keynote all abrir KEY arquivos com reasonable fidelity. Fonts, images, e padrão transitions carry across. para presentations that must render identically para o original, export to PDF antes compartilhando — PDF locks the layout against the recipient's environment.

Upload your KEY to KaijuConverter e pick PDF, PPTX, ODP, ou image formatoos (one PNG per slide). Our LibreOffice Impress pipeline preserves slide layout, embedded fonts, images, e SmartArt. Animations e transitions flatten to static slides in PDF e image exports.

Animations e transitions are interactive effects; they only survive when convertendo between presentation formatoos that support them (PPTX ↔ ODP). Exporting to PDF ou images produces a static snapshot of each slide at its final animation state. usar native KEY formato if live playback is essential.
