How to Convert Adobe Illustrator AI to PNG

What Is AI Format?

AI (Adobe Illustrator) is the native vector graphics format for Illustrator. AI files scale to any size without quality loss but can only be opened natively in Illustrator or (with limitations) in Inkscape. Converting to PNG rasterizes the vector artwork at a specified resolution into a universally viewable image. PNG preserves transparency — if your AI artwork has a transparent background, the PNG output will too.

How to Convert AI to PNG

1. Go to the AI to PNG converter.
2. Upload your .ai file (must be saved with PDF compatibility, which is the default in Illustrator).
3. Click Convert — ImageMagick/Ghostscript renders the vector and exports as PNG.
4. Download the PNG file.
