Only if the audio codec inside MKV is not directly writable into the WMA container. When codecs match we stream-copy, producing a bit-exact WMA. When they differ, we re-encode at a high-quality default, so the perceptual loss is tiny for anything other than lossless-to-lossless mismatches.

Most files finish in well under a minute. Small images and documents are typically ready in a few seconds; large video or audio files scale roughly with duration. Upload speed from your network is usually the dominant factor, not server time.

Yes. The Advanced options let you set start and end times in HH:MM:SS, so you can extract a single chapter, a specific quote or a clean sample instead of the full duration of the MKV.
